The applications for the International Doctoral Programme in Sustainable Built Environment (iDiSBE) for the 2021/2022 academic year will be opened from August 30 to September 03, 2021. More information on the website of the School of Engineering.

iDiSBE aims to provide a high-level specialized advanced education to develop the ability of doctoral candidates to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the sustainability of the built environment through creative and autonomous investigation.

The main objective of the PhD is to create an integrated approach to the sustainability of the built environment covering phases of design, construction materials and technologies, service life evaluation and durability, rehabilitation, building comfort and use of energy, construction economics and management, sustainable urban development and regeneration.

Research in the PhD in Sustainable Built Environment integrates the following Research Centres:

  • Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE);
  • Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC).

A limited number of scholarships will be available. The criterion to grant these scholarships is the relevant publications in international indexed journals of the field, developed during the 1st year.

The International Doctoral Programme in Sustainable Built Environment is Accredited by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education – A3ES.
